If your Android smartphone and your hearing aids both support direct Android Streaming to Hearing Aids, you can download and install the Interton Sound app, open it and tap “Get started”. Once the hearing aids are paired with your smartphone, you can stream audio directly.
Direct stereo streaming from Android devices is available for the following Interton hearing aids:
Direct streaming to Android devices* is one of the latest advancements in hearing aid connectivity and therefore, it is available in select smartphone models with the required technology. Please check with your service carrier before purchasing a new smartphone to ensure that they have also enabled the service.
*Full streaming compatibility with Android devices requires minimum Android v10 and Bluetooth 5.0 and that functionality has been enabled by the phone manufacturer and service carrier. Accordingly, the compatibility information provided should be used for reference only. Although Interton strives to achieve seamless device compatibilities, Interton cannot guarantee full compatibility with all Android devices.
If direct Android streaming is not supported by your hearing aids or Android smartphone, you can use the Interton Phone Clip 2 to stream sound. The Interton Phone Clip 2 enables you to connect your Interton hearing aids to any Bluetooth v.2.0 Android device.
Connectivity with Samsung devices
Update on Android connectivity (Dec 2022)
Connectivity with Samsung devices:
Some users have experienced connectivity issues, particularly with only one hearing instrument re-connecting.
We can confirm that Samsung has resolved the issue as part of Android 13 (One UI 5.0). The roll-out of the update is ongoing and not all devices will get the update at once. We encourage all users to install the update when it becomes available to once again enjoy seamless connectivity.
Connectivity with Google Pixel devices:
Some users with Google Pixel devices running Android 13 may experience difficulties pairing their hearing instruments with their smartphone or unstable connectivity, and streaming. We are investigating the issues with Google and expect the issues to be resolved in a future software update from Google. In the meantime, you may reconnect by turning Bluetooth off/on. As soon as a permanent resolution has been identified, we will make an update on this page.
For specific questions related to connectivity, please reach out to your nearest hearing care professional for further assistance.
